Hopefully winzip took care of the decompression.  I just ftped 947 files 
up to the IIS 11C2 which now occupies 90% of 4500 cyls.

This is a nice workaround because in this shop trying to FTP getfile from 
the mainframe is hermetically sealed.

It is just fine to FTP put from a desktop to the mainframe but woe be 
anyone who tries to FTP getfile from the mainframe.

Hi, George.

Yes, the pipe is doing more than simply ftp-ing the files off of the 
DVD. The files are in a compressed format (tersed?) and the pipe also 
uncompresses them before laying down the 3390 DASD image.
