Sort of a broad range of targets here. Could you tell us a little more
about:
1) Have they tried FTP of the same file from a different system through
the same network to the target system? If that one is slow too, then
don;t bother trying to diagnose a VM/ESA 2.3 problem.1)
2) from what system the FTP is initiated,
3) to what system the FTP is targeted,
4) and all the systems and firewalls it goes through? (Chuckie awards
gold stars and extra points for pictures of your network!).
5) What size is the file?

E.g. some cable companies will reduce the bandwidth when a certain number
of bytes have been exceeded. Is this all within your own network, or does
the file go through someone else's?

There are so many targets of opportunity where the problem may lie... help
us understand the environment better.

Subject
TCP/IP QOS Setting

All,

Is there a setting in TCP/IP that would set/limit the QOS. Individual says
they are getting slow QOS on an FTP and they would like a definitive
answer that there is no TCP/IP setting that would limit this.

Unfortunately, the VM is old... VM/ESA 2.3

Thanks,

Billy
