If you have CA products like PDSMAN, CA1, or others, and you do not already have CA VANAGE (Stoarge Resource Manager SRM), then you could get GMI (Graphical Manager Interface) which is free. It has some nice basic DASD processes that could help.
And best part is it is a GUI on the desktop.
