I have a very dynamic lab environment with several z/VM systems and a lot of
shared DASD that can change from day to day.
DASD is always being varied online and attached to one system or another.
z/VM IPL's are not scheduled but can happen at any time.
Here is the problem. Often DASD that was varied online and used by z/VM-x is
no longer there after it IPL's... I don't want to have everything online for
each VM at IPL.

Here is the question for discussion. I thought that I could setup a
'SHUTTRAP' machine that would query dasd whan it receives a shutdown signal
and save the results in a file. Then later when z/VM comes back up I can
have AUTOLOG1 recreate the DASD environment from the shuttrap file before
autologing the other gueste..

Any ideas? Comments?

Thanks
