I can confirm one part of the experience Kris described:
It happens then and only then if the requestor runs disconnected and a
secondary user exists.
Also "IUCV *ASYNCMD" is defined to MAINT's directory entry (can I query that
somehow from the user?)
and the TRYFOR EXEC specifys a path as Alan mentioned.
However, the response still is just displayed:
tst
DISCONNECT AT 17:01:28 CET THURSDAY 11/18/10

Requestor's status:

EXEC TRYFOR WBT1 Q U *
WBT1 -L005B

*********************************************************
The FOR command completed successfullyÜ
(Note: The output of the STARMSG stage starts with an
8 character message class. For *ASYNCMD this is always
'00000000' (eight zeros) and is removed from the
following output.)
The end of command record from *ASYNCMD is:
WBT1 0000000000000076100000000
The number of command response records from *ASYNCMD are >0<
The command response records are:
*********************************************************
The user ID is: >USERIDS<
The token is: >TOKENS<
User IDs do not match: >USERIDS< and >WBT1 <
Tokens do not match: >TOKENS< and >0000000000000076<
The end of command record is:
User ID: >WBT1 <
Token: >0000000000000076<
MsgType: >1<
RC: >0000<
Lost Messages: >0000<
The command responses are:
