No. All that does is tell the hw which IOCDS "slot" to use at POR/IML Take David's advice and read the "I/O Configuration" manual. It contains information about "manual" dynamic I/O config as well as HCD. Note that the z/VM 6.1 version of the book has had some significant updates. Use that one. Alan Altmark IBM
