Don't worry, these are not all for z/VM.
I also need them for z/VSE and z/OS . 
We need to connect VTAM all over the place and Enterprise Extender is
only available on z/OS.

I also want all the LPAR's to be able to be used for any operating
system I throw at it.

In a Single System Image cluster, you have to have fully interconnected 
ISFC links.  No hops.  Redundancy is provided by allowing multiple ISFC 
links between any pair of systems.
