New issue 901 by [email protected]: Assigning different keys for different layouts
http://code.google.com/p/ibus/issues/detail?id=901 I use IBus for both English input and Korean input. (Yes, I am a Korean user.) I used to use different keys for different inputs: Not a single 'flipper' to switch back and forth, but two different keystrokes for each. LShift+Space = Roman (English) RShift+Space = Hangul (Korean) With this configuration, you don't need to care about the 'current' input state of the process when you start typing. Wherever you are, you just press either LShift+Space or RShift+Space and then start typing. Very, very liberating. On Windows, I did this with a third party application. I failed to do the same on IBus. I hope this is due to my ignorance. In case it is simply impossible with IBus, I would like to politely suggest the implementation. I can assure you that having this feature would help reduce stress of countless people with multiple input engines. I am using Ubuntu 10.04 lucid lynx. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "ibus-devel" group. iBus project web page: http://code.google.com/p/ibus/ iBus dev group: http://groups.google.com/group/ibus-devel?hl=en
