A quick dip into pygtk on irc.gimp.net I was given the following advice.
walters: klattimer: if ibus takes over SIGCHLD like that it's going to
break glib's spawning code
walters: resolution: use glib.spawn_*
I will write a patch for this bug and will upstream that patch when it is
complete.
