New issue 1402 by [email protected]: Ibus-chewing: a furtive window appears at startup but it's too fast to see what it is…
http://code.google.com/p/ibus/issues/detail?id=1402

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
OS (Linux distributions, UNIX or ...): Archlinux
Architecture (i386, x86_64): x86_64
IBus version: 1.4.0
Input method name and version: Chewing 1.3.10
Python version: 2.7.2
dbus version: 1.4.16
dbus-python version: 0.84.0
gtk version (if bug is about gtk applications): 2.24.9
qt version (if bug is about qt applications):

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. install ibus and ibus-chewing
2. add chewing in the input list method
3. open an application (ex: libreoffice)
4. press Ctrl-space

What happens?
Ibus chewing starts but we can see a window appear and disappear, very briefly.

What is expected?
The window should stay longer to let us see what it is.

However, once chewing has been started in one application, deactivate it or activate it again does not show this again. If we open a new application, and start chewing with ctrl-space, it does the same: the window appears briefly. (because I asked ibus to not have a global input method; if I chose to share the input method over application then the window will only show up once, still briefly).

Note: I've noticed the Archlinux team first because I thought it was a package issue or something but it was true with chewing 1.3.9 and with the previous version of ibus.
