Below is my system configuration (Fedora 17 installed new/not upgraded,
using KDE):

I have deleted ~/.cache/ibus/{pinyin,libpinyin}, logged out, and logged
back on.
I am seeing many strange characters appear when I type using "Chinese -
Intelligent Pinyin" with settings Full Pinyin, NO enable correct pinyin, NO
enable fuzzy syllable, and GB dictionary only (no GBK). I tried a few other
combinations but they did not seem to help.
For example, typing "shi" results in suggestions #3 and #4 being 万 and 斯
which AFAIK don't begin with "shi" as pinyin. As another example, #3 or 4
for "qi" is 赛 which again doesn't seem to belong. These are not isolated
cases; practically every pinyin combination has out-of-place characters.
