Comment #5 on issue 1077 by takao.fujiwara1: ibus cannot work with Python
IDLE 3
http://code.google.com/p/ibus/issues/detail?id=1077
I think it means idle3 doesn't support any input methods and it's not an
ibus issue.
It seems idle3 has the custome window idlelib/EditorWindow.py and it neeeds
to connect XIM or GtkIMModule.
In Ubuntu 11.10 with Unity and german keyboard settings the character "^"
cannot be entered in IDLE 3 as long as the input method switcher is
active. After deinstallation of ibus the program works fine.
If you use ibus 1.3, it would be good to use ibus 1.4 at least and
ibus-setup has the option of "Use sytem keyboard layout" in "Advanced" tab
and ibus won't touch the layout.
I don't see any problems with idle3 because it seems idle3 3.9.1 disables
input methods.
