I have a similar problem. There are three input languages on my system:
English, Korean and Russian. I type English with "Input method Off"; to
type in Russian or Korean, I first switch to ibus input method, and then
toggle between the two.
Now, the problem is that I can indeed type in Russian, but when I switch to
Korean - Latin letters appear instead of Hangeul characters.
It's goldendict 1.5.0~ppa130714-1 on Ubuntu-13.04.
As of the ibus-qt:
$ aptitude search ibus-qt
i ibus-qt4
p ibus-qt4:i386
p libibus-qt-dev
p libibus-qt-dev:i386
i A libibus-qt1
p libibus-qt1:i386
The env. variables are set this way:
export XMODIFIERS=@im=ibus
export QT_IM_MODULE=ibus
export XIM_PROGRAM=/usr/bin/ibus-deamon
