On what operating system? Debian Jessie (testing) kernel 3.10-3-amd64
Architecture (i386, x86_64): amd64
IBus version: IBus 1.5.3
Input method name and version: ibus-chewing 1.4.3-3, ibus-anthy 1.5.3-3
Python version: Python 2.7.5+
dbus version: 1.7.4-1
dbus-python version: 1.2.0-2+b1
gtk version (if bug is about gtk applications): 3.9.14-1 and 2.24.21-1
respectively
qt version (if bug is about qt applications): 4:4.8.5+git121-g2a9ea11+dfsg-1
What steps will reproduce the problem?
I tried setting my candidate orientation by:
- Right click on the ibus tray icon.
- Select "Preference".
- Next to "Candidate Orientation", select "Horizontal" (as seen on
20131001_ss01.jpg).
- Press "Close" to close ibus-setup.
- When I type, the candidate orientation still shows up vertical (as seen
on 20131001_ss02.jpg).
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The candidate orientation should be listed horizontally; however the list
still showed up as vertical.

I have also tried the following:
- changed the content of the
file "/etc/dconf/db/ibus.d/00-upstream-settings"
- under "[desktop/ibus/panel]" changed the
option "lookup-table-orientation" from 1 to 0 (I've provided a diff
named "upstream-settings.diff" to show the option).
- after the file was changed I tried "sudo dconf update" to
update "/etc/dconf/db/ibus".
- restarted the ibus daemon by logging out and log back in.
The candidate orientation still shows vertical :(
