I think in IBus we need a service which can do text prediction, In fctix uses presage for text prediction. Right now for IBus , Ibus typing booster provides text prediction and it has about 40+ engines and i think it's not a good idea to have two separate IME's. Another thing is, for text prediction specially for latin language candidate lists are really annoying, it often distracts user or hides some other elements on the screen.so may be, we need don't need them. I would like to propose following feature in IBus for text prediction:- 1: API or service for text prediction so that users will get uniform prediction experience and in a long run same service can be hooked up with any web service to get data. Another use case would be to get meaning of the words or searching it on google or wikipedia 2: Instead of candidate lists, a fixed and customizable bar to show candiadates. It should be customizable because when you type on gedit, someone wants suggestions to appear at bottom while typing it on browser someone wants suggestions to be appear at side of your screen. 3: After committing words and if you press backspace to change it again words should go again in preedit buffer so that it would be useful for text prediction.
