New issue 1686 by [email protected]: a random freeze after restart
http://code.google.com/p/ibus/issues/detail?id=1686
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
OS: Linux
Architecture: x86, amd64
IBus version: 1.5.4 (--enable-dconf --enable-introspection --disable-gconf
--enable-gtk2 --enable-xim --enable-gtk3 --enable-ui --enable-nls
--disable-tests --enable-xim --disable-vala --disable-wayland
--disable-python-library --enable-setup)
dev-libs/gobject-introspection-1.38.0
Even while no input engine is active (unless you count xkb) and no client
is active (unless you count the panel), a restart of ibus (triggered from
tray menu) tends to randomly (that is not upon every restart) "freeze" the
input.
What exactly happens is that:
- mouse presses are ignored (by open windows and window manager)
- if any app windows are open, Alt-Tab no longer switches between them
The easiest way I found to trigger is to restart ibus, switch the virtual
console, switch back, repeat till it freezes (usually less than five tries).
