I'm reading this bug report here and am asking myself what an "xkb engine"
is.
"Engine" sounds like it's doing something. I'm thinking "xkb engine" means
"sets some specific xkb settings like setxkbmap would do and leaves the
real IME(s) off."
This raises the question: how to configure xkb layouts when I use a real IM
engine? If I'm supposed to do this outside of ibus, why does ibus fiddle
with xkb at all?
