Comment #8 on issue 513 by [email protected]: [NewFeature] 添加拼音声调能力
http://code.google.com/p/ibus/issues/detail?id=513
For the benefit of English speakers searching for this issue ...
Please make it possible to input Pinyin with tonemarks, through IBus, by
typing a number after each Pinyin word.
For example, if I were to type "ni3 hao3" I would get "nǐ hǎo".
It seems SCIM had this functionality, but as Ubuntu users are encouraged to
use IBus this would be of great benefit to anyone learning and
communicating in Chinese.
Not having this feature in IBus makes typing with tones marks very
inconvenient.
Please forgive me if I misunderstand this issue, I don't speak Chinese.
