New issue 1727 by [email protected]: Let's make
use-system-keyboard-layout=true
http://code.google.com/p/ibus/issues/detail?id=1727
Package: ibus
Version: 1.5.7 (debian -2 build)
Problem: ibus forces us layout (override XKB)
(Try to build system by overriding previous setting is problematic
approach. Trust system.)
Case:
OS configure keyboard system properly for jp layout
ibus-kkc (or ibus-anthy )is the only input on GNOME
That is configured to use default XKB
Expected:
Get Japanese keyboard when typing under ibus-kkc direct mode.
Outcome:
Get US keyboard when typing under ibus-kkc direct mode initially.
(shift-2=@)
By adding jp XKB data to GNOME KB panel and using it, then ibus-kkc start
using Japanese keyboard.(shift-2 = ")
Solution proposed:
Change /etc/dconf/db/ibus.d/00-upstream-settings as:
use-system-keyboard-layout=true
Benefit:
Now work around like forcing jp keyboard from within ibus-kkc can be
disabled.
I now can enjoy input of russian or any XKB mode under ibus-kkc direct
mode. (One of the complain in most popular issue #743 is solved by this.)
