I'v verified Qt Quick is OK and the problem is unrelated to Qt.
My webbrowser-app version is newer than yours. I have experienced old
version of the webbrowser-app freezes my Ubuntu entirely. I have updated
all the daily updates of Ubuntu 14.04. See terminal part of my screenshot
for further information.
