You might be able to reproduce the problem by starting any XIM application
about 3-4 times, and kill -9 it, each time.
After that, repeatedly starting and stopping the application normally, a
few more times, should result in some percentage of times the application
not receiving a reply to its XIM_OPEN message. What happens then depends on
how your application handles no response to an XIM_OPEN.
