Has anyone had experience cleaning barnacle residue and other gunk from the
bottom of a high-density polyethylene hull (Watertender 9.4)? I scraped off as
much as I could but it is still badly stained below the water line, mostly hard
stuff. I hesitate to use steel wool or other physical abrasive to get it off
for fear of badly scratching or wearing down the HDPE. Is there a product that
will cut through the left-over residue without melting the hull? "MaryKate On &
Off" would seem a good bet except that it says it is only for fiber glass, and
the company confirmed in an email that I should not use it on HDPE. Any
thoughts?

Thanks.
