Well - I sprung (sprang, coughed up, whatever) for the small additional cost
for a bearing assembly for my furler and only have a problem furling or
unfurling when one of us pays insufficient attention to sheet wraps or foot
cleats.? I try to furl/unfurl with minimum resistance on the system by sailing
high.? Rarely have a problem with the last few turns when unfurling, but a
quick tack is usually sufficient to shake things out.? I do not motor up to the
wind to furl the genny.? Sometimes do to get the main down if I feel it is
going to be a problem coming into the mooring or a dock.

I suggest you cast a binoculared eye aloft to see if something up there seems
to be hanging up.? Might not hurt to drop the genny and examine lines to see if
you have a problem up there.

Subject: [IC27A] Furler Frankly Frustrating

hi all,

i love this group. so responsive and caring, it's awesome. ok so my furler is
resistant to un-fruling, much like i am about getting up in the morning, so i
have to go go forward and forcefully finesse the final turn or two before the
jib's finally fully un-furled. so fill me in friends. is there a lube-able part
to this fairly frank fixture i should fiddle with? frappacino anyone?
