Funny you should mention your list of upgrades.....LOL.....Each one of your
tasks is a mere "one line item" in your Projects to Accomplish or whatever
the title of your list is, I did "Your List." In fact, I did the motor
thing last spring and summer.....LOL....merely a one line item in "The List"
and it only took me an unbelievable amount of engineering, designing, time,
effort, and all of it was totally therapeutic.

Fortunate for you I took pictures of the entire installation so if you are
interested in going the way I went, I have a process to follow.   However;
if you are going another direction on your "New Motor" project, I can still
offer assistance on the "Standing Rigging" item.

I replaced my standing rigging using all the same wire diameter, and Hi-Mod
fittings aloft and on deck. I examined Norseman, Sta-Lock, and Hi-Mod and
Hi-Mod won the day. I most liked their insert as it is a toothed
distributor of the wire's load.

A hank of wire longer than the longest wire in your rig with an "I" on one
end and a spare "I" is a long term fix, while two "I" fittings and two
shackles is a quick patch. I am a cutter rig with running back stays and a
double back stay so I have a significant amount of wire aloft. As a long
range cruiser I have the ability to patch any piece of rigging from my
on-board hardware stores.

I must say that my new motor and mount is both ingenius and practical. If
you have $4,000.00 for your last outboard motor and fantastic auxiliary,
ask for the full whamy of the saga of the "New Motor" line item on my list.
It only took me five months to complete the project of that line item, but
the outcome was personally gratifiying.

Best of luck to you on your list, I remain,

Very truly yours,

David Hoyt

Our boat is in Annapolis MD and we are looking to do some work to her. We
want to investigate new standing rigging, glassing in the transom and
getting a new motor and new mount.
Any suggestions are appreciated!
Thanks
Vicki
