Hello, I am currently in the process of purchasing a used Catalina 27 (survey is tomorrow!). The boat does not currently have a depth sounder mounted onboard but there are both a knotmeter and depth sounder through-hull transducers mounted on the bottom of the hull in the engine compartment. I'd like to have a depth sounder put on the boat but am not sure how to proceed. If I can used the transducer currently mounted, I'd be fine with that. Not sure what brand it is. The current owner says the electrical plug looks like an "RCA" jack. Any words of wisdom?
BTW, I'm not trying to save the $120 on a new one, I'm just concerned about the through-hull transducer. Thanks! Paul
