Joe, we have the 2000. I had to move the mount up (2 inches) on the stbd seat backrest. it works fine. The standby is a simple touch of the buttons and the unit swings off to the side for manual stearing.
Side note: For the first time, we left the boat in the water this winter at Shadyside. Sorry to have caused so much snow!!! the 2000 is the right choice for us. TomC Kiona BYB at Shadyside, Md.
