I replaced the old CNG stove on my 86 model with an Origo 3000.  A great
stove.  We found that we never used the gimble on the old stove.  We only use
the stove underway in light conditions, so I did not bother with the gimble.
With the Origo sitting in the bottom of the insert, I could not reach the
release button to open it up for servicing.  I cut a piece of 3/4in plywood to
fit the bottom of the insert.  I attached 1x1 in strips around the outside of
the plywood to keep the stove centered in the insert.  I gave all the wood a
coat of stain and varnish, even though the wood is not really visible with the
stove on top.  The old cutting board fits nicely over the stove.
I did not like the optional pot holders that Origo sells.  I got a piece on
1in aluminum angle from Ace Hardware and attached it to the front of the grate
to keep pans from sliding off.

I have a 1990 C27.   I'm looking for a stove to replace my current Hillerange
two burner pressurized stove.   Sounds like a success story with your Origo
3000.  You mentioned that the Origo fit perfectly with the existing stainless
insert.  Was there any modification at all that you needed to do to the insert
to make it fit?

Thanks in advance.
