Richard,
Svendsen's in Alameda is well stocked, but a taxi ride to get
there. There is a West Marine in South S.F. near SFO and they can do
rigging if ordered at westmarine.com/rigging. In the 'City', there
is South Beach Riggers at Pier 40 near the Giants' ball park. Nearby
is San Francisco Boat Works within walking distance, and you might
want to check out easomrigging.com as they would deliver from Point
Richmond. If you can scrounge a recent copy of Latitude 38, the
local sailing mag with a world wide reputation, they will have
numerous other ads from marine establishments around the Bay Area.
Hope this gives you some 'local knowledge' to work from. Shoot me an
email if you need more help. I'll be on the Bay periodically from
mid March through the Sail Exp Boat Show in mid April.
Cheers!
