With all due respect,

I have to come out of the shadows to defend my venerable and extremely
reliable Atomic-4. I have had it for over 15 years, bought it "new" (rebuild)
from Old Lyme Marina in Ct., and with normal maintenance and care it has
only failed once, and that was last season and that was due to a buildup of
sludge in the gas tank, once I cleaned out the tank, it was its old reliable
self.

As for the production line being out of service for 30 years, parts are
still easy to get, and any real problems can be handled either by Old Lyme
Marina in Old Lyme, Ct, or Don Moyer at Moyer Marine in Pa.who is the
acknowledged Atomic 4 guru. Get his maintenance/repair manual; everything,
--EVERYTHING you need to know about the Atomic 4 is in it.

Parts, rebuiild kits for carb, water pump, fuel pump, etc, electronic
ignition and all aftermarket parts are easily available from John Featherman of

Featherman Enterprises.

I have been dealing with both Moyer and Featherman for many years and have
always gotten first class service. Don has solved some of my problems over
the phone and is very generous with his advice. He used to publish a
newsletter, but I'm not sure he does anymore. I haven't gotten one in a long
time.

The only real issue is the gas engine and the safety issues with gasoline,
but one just needs to be aware, I have never had a problem nor has anyone I
know with an A-4 had a problem. Gas mileage is great, about 2 hours per
gallon, and There are aftermarket props to improve performance (Although I
can do hull speed at half throttle) Aftermarket "modern" parts )ie electronic
ignition, custom prop, electric feul pump, etc) are available from Indigo
Products.

I wouldn't trade my Atomic 4 if you gave me a new diesel!!
