I had a little sailboat, it's Stick stuck in da skies.
But I din't know how long it was, so I ask doz odder guys,
Der was a guy dat said the mast was only just so high
"I tink he forgit the cabin and da hull". So said Anodder guy,

One said, "it's really really big, 'Bout 40 feet should do,"
Unless I's got a Tall Rigs boat, then it should be 42,
One told me that it must be big, 'cause HE had to tip da craft,
To git it through a real low bridge. HIS pitchurs show'd... HIS... "Aft".

Oh what shall I do to find what size my little stick do go?
I could walk down to my boat, tru Rain and wind and snow.
And take a little wad of string, "Bout 50 feet should do,
Then Hoist it to the top of my stick, (see I got a high IQ)

Den let it fall to da waterline, and mark dat very spot,
'N Unhoist the wad of string back down, and measure what I'z got.
Den, I can make a real good guess of the odder junk up there,
Like 'Tennas and da anchor light or Grannie's rockin' chair.

Oh dey's many odder ways to git the measure of dat lil stick
Like ratios 'tween da hull 'n mast using photos, dat's a trick,
I betcha den, I tell da odder guys, who's tink dey's very smart,
Dat sailing ain't just Pulin' strings, It's a little bit of "art",

And usin' what's left of my brain to figgur some tings out,
It once was said, "t'ain't rocket science" . on that I have no doubt.
So next time when some guys ask me just what my mast length is.
I'll just smile and say " here's da answer boys, Cause I AM a Stick Trick Whiz"
