Depends on the year the Cent was minted. You might be surprised to see that it's been mostly BRONZE or even BRASS... See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Penny_(United_States_coin) The chart on this page shows that the "Copper Penny" hasn't been Copper for a long time.
