My 82' has the SR mariner DDM-1 depth gauge which had a bad display when I bought the boat. I have taken it apart and see that the LCD is in a socket so could be replaced if I could find a replacement. I believe it was manufactured by Hamlin but haven't found any info on the net. I don't know if the supporting electronics or the transducer is any good so it may be a moot point even if I find a replacement. My knot meter still works and I also have wind speed and apparent wind but need to re-install the sensor at the masthead so don't know their functionality either. I thought about buying a Moor depth but not sure if the transducer is a drop in replacement. But the price of $268 through defender is not bad.
I also considered a fish finder on a swing bracket but not sure I like the idea of the bracket. Could the fish finder be bulkhead mounted? Of course there are others, Ray marine, Furuno, Nexus, Signet, etc but are pricey. Any thoughts on this and does anybody have a working SR they want to sell? Happy Sailing Doug 5053
