I used one of the Garhauer units (I believe it is an MT-1), although not the one from Cat Direct (which I'm pretty sure is also made by Garhauer). It works great, although I did need to raise it a little because the traveler head is bigger (as in way more robust) than the original and was fouling the tiller head when I pivoted the tiller up (you may have to do that with the unit from Cat Direct as well, according to their installation notes). For now, I stacked up fairly large outside diameter washers at the bolt-down points, but my go-forward plan is to make up some one piece aluminum spacers. I use a "endless" traveler line, so with a little flip on the line I can accomplish "windward sheeting" (as you get with some of the Harken units for several times the price). Probably original and it may just need a good cleaning but I bet it is approaching the end of its life. The small plastic sheeves are practical worn through. This is the End Boom Sheeting style. For those that have replaced it have you used the Catalina direct, Harken, Scheafer, or other? I think I want to stick with the same location. thanks Doug ________________________________ This e-mail and any files transmitted with it may be proprietary and are intended solely for the use of the individual or entity to whom they are addressed.
