Hey group.

I have 9.9hp Evinrude Yachtwin.  Love it! Gets me where I want to go, makes
reversing easy, and pulls out when to reduce drag when racing, but I'm having a
problem and I don't know much about motors...

She starts on the second push of the button (as long as I remember to reattach
the fuel hose), runs great when throttled up going forward and reverse, but
going slow or idling requires careful management of the the throttle.
Somewhere about 3/4 out keeps her running, but 11/16 or 13/16 and she will want
to stall.  Now this didn't happen until I messed around with the slow idle
knob, but I only fiddled with that because it started stalling at low idle when
in gear.  She would idle fine in neutral.  Now I can't remember what I did to
the knob, but would like to attack it with some knowledge instead of just
fiddling with it again.

Any help? Any good reference material to recommend?  It is sailing season, so
if it requires a lot of work I'll have plenty of time to read up on it before
trying it out.  Also any general maintenance that I should be doing would also
be nice to know.  I have just been filling her up and pressing the start
button, so I've been blessed so far... I'd like to keep it that way too!  So
please let me know how I can show some love to the heart of my lady : )
