I recently purchased a 78 C27 and the prior owner was a racer and had a very
expensive high end set of Sobstad Exotics made for the boat. I had the sails to
my sailmaker Thursday to appraise the condition and I would like to sell them.
I am not a racer and have no use for them, but need a new cruising main so they
need to go. I will decribe the condition as best I can:

Sobstad Mylar Main sail. Full top batton with loose foot. All the hardware is
in good condition. However this sail is pretty well used and is suitable for a
backup in a pinch. Some of the seems are coming unglued and could be sewn back
down. Mylar is pretty soft and delaminating. My sail guy said it could be
flown, but may not last very long. He valued it at $200-300. I'll let go for
$150 or best offer plus shipping. Would work for a back up or to cover you
during a sail repair. I am having a new main made so my current will be the
back up..don't need 2 backups!

Sobstad Genoa laminated dacron. Very heavy laminated race sail. He thought 7-8
oz. Sail is in very good shape. Only problem is it has some mildew on it.
Sailmaker said there is a chemical that will clean it right up. Set up to run
on a CDI roller. Has a huge foam pad on the luff and a white sun cover on the
leech. It's somewhere between a 150 and a 170. He said it was a extremely well
made sail. He was very impressed by the quality. Needs a 6 inch seem repair in
the sun cover. Said it's about a $3500 sail new, he valued it around $1200 in
current condition. I will take $850 plus shipping for it or best offer. Comes
with a bag.

If interested email me and I can send you pics. I am going to put them on ebay
on Sunday.
