Okay this is going to sound like a dorky question but I bought a new mainsail
that is loose footed? All the mains that I have ever had attached to the boom
with a rope the length of the foot. My new one has a slide on the end and that
is it. I assume that for lighter wind I ease up on the outhaul and when the
wind pipes up I tighten the outhaul. Also it has 3 full length battens that are
held in the pockets with a 6 inch nylon tab that has velcro on one side. It
seems to be a very nice sail but new technology to me. Any advice from the
group?

When you get it installed. Take a few pictures. I for one would love to see
what it looks like.

I just ordered a Taylor bimini. It will mount on the deck of my '77 and extend
from the cabin to about 6" short of the mainsheet (aft mounted mainsheet -
would have been easier with a cabin mounted traveler)). In Theory, it should
work fine, I'll let you know in about a week.

Price was very good $219 for a 6' long, 54"high and 87" wide in Hunter green to
match my boat and canvas, including boot..

Check Ebay. The guy I bought it from is in Tampa (the bimini ships from NY) his
email is teet...@verizon. net. Phone 813 2401617 Nice guy, sounds reputable and
fully guarantees all his sales.
