[IC27A] Diesel Fuel Pump Question

The mechanical fuel pump on my 1984 C27 5411 Diesel engine has malfunctioned.  
The boat is on a remote lake in Colorado, so I am going to install an electric 
fuel pump as a work around to be able to sail this weekend?.  Can anyone 
provide some specifications for the pump (fuel pressure - flow rate)  I am 
thinking about installing an auto carburator small pump; Any insights 
appreciated.
