I finally got my Taylor bimini installed, unfortunately I ordered it before
I learned of the jib car mount, and it is mounted to the decks. I may
extend the center support to mount in on the cars as, although it works, it
would work much better outside the lifelines. When you say you shackled it on,
does that mean it is loosely mounted to the car?

As far a quality, I agree, not top of the line, but very serviceable. Don't
leave it up in the rain as the water will pool and stretch the fabric.
Also if you are handy with a sewing machine, as I am, when the fabric wears
out ( I can't see it lasting more than 3 years) using it as a pattern, a new
one using Sunbrella would use only two yards and is not complicated to
make. And at $15/yd can't beat the price.

On the whole, I feel it is a good deal, much better than others I have
looked at and it sure is far more comfortable on those hot days to sit in the
shade. Very happy with it.

>Secondly, we installed the new Taylor bimini on the jib car rails in 5
minutes. We didn't even have to modify >the jib cars like I thought. We just
attached with a shackle just like you would a spin sheet. Works great,
>clears the lifelines and winches just fine and best of all, is fully
adjustable!! I can't tell you what a difference >it's made. We were out last
evening
and while it was hot, everyone was reasonably comfortable. Now for >the
Taylor bimini:

> These are not top of the line by any stretch. But for the price ($240
including shipping) I really can't >complain. The frame is very sturdy but
the stitching on the fabric is sub par. Good news is a replacement >top is on
$75 so if I get 3-5 years out of it and have to replace the top I'm still
ahead of the game. So there >you have it.
