The Detroit area always tends to have lower values to begin with. I bought a
similar 1986 boat for $11,000 8 years ago. I had to get rid of it 6 years ago
but I am looking for another this spring. One other thing that has changed now
also is the marine loan situation. 8 years ago one could get a 10 year loan
for a boat that age and price. Currently at a few places i checked the minimum
for a boat older then 1990 was $25,000. This puts the mid 80's c27's into the
awkward place of being a large cash only outlay and you lose the ability deduct
the interest as a second home.

I just sold my 79 for $5500, granted the Detroit market is a little softer but
its still representative of what these boats are selling for.
