2x the length will work but 2.5 is better. If you botch a takedown (everyone does), 2x will run through your blocks resulting in the possibility of losing the sheets. Oh, don't tie stopper knots on the sheets like on the jib, when things go "south", you will want them to run...trust me...been there, done that!
