It is also a nerve line - the pulley apparatus puts pressure both on the
upper lip (lip line and over the poll - nerve line.)  Personally I think
that the lip line or twitch, when used correctly, is the lesser of two evils
than the nerve line because the nerve line causes pain rather than releasing
endorphins.  .... but I hear what you are saying about standing still to
avoid the pain..
