My side saddle is a Peruvian one -- like the top picture on 
(http://hometown.aol.com/sidesadl/sidesaddles2.html) -- a design from 
before the leaping horn was invented.  It's secure -- but I'm glad 
I'm on a mannerly, smooth gaited horse and we aren't chasing after 
the hounds or clearing fences <g>.
