I just got this off the weather alert for our area--- By Friday afternoon, the Arctic air will reach southern Oklahoma and northern Arkansas. Beyond that point, the Arctic air may slow down just a little, but we think this very cold airmass will reach the northwest Gulf of Mexico sometime on Sunday afternoon. By Monday late afternoon, the Arctic air should be well-entrenched across the Gulf Coast states from Texas through the Florida Panhandle. Temperaturres immediately behind the front will drop 20-30 degrees, down into the 30s and 40s within an hour or two after frontal passage.
