Janice, we're really enjoying this "new" candor!  Hehehehe....

Seriously, I've been thinking about the horses I personally know who are
closely related, and I don't see much, if any gender-related mane/tail
length.  Mac and Holly are cousins (a couple of different ways) and she has
a thicker mane and tail than he has.  Bjola has a longer mane than her
half-brother Skjoni, but not as much as their common niece, Maja - Maja's is
fairly long and very thick.  Flekka and Trausti are cousins, both with lush
manes, but Flekka's is thicker.  Looks like Isak may be going to have the
most mane of my 2006 foals, all four by Melnir, but his mom IS Flekka.
Melnir's mane is pretty thick, but only medium-long.  The two Icelandics
here with the skimpiest manes are Sina and Eitill - a mare and a gelding.
Looks like it runs the gamut here, regardless of gender.
