>>>> Did anyone take any pictures of the saddles on horses? No, her saddles were not used in the clinic. I wish I had gotten pictures. She doesn't push any particular equipment, but I asked her about bringing the saddles down so I could look at them. We didn't get around to trying them until the day after the clinic and I was too tired to think about taking pictures then. There was no one else here by then but Liz and me. Dave makes sure there is "flare" at the front of the saddle trees so the shoulders can move, something I understand used to be more common in western saddle design.
>>> What did Liz think about the Sensations on your horses? She likes them a lot for a good many horses. She rode Trausti the prior year in one, and she liked it then too. We had five Icelandic's in the clinic - and five Sensations. (Next year, with the same attendance, we could have six Icelandic's and six Sensations, since Janice now has Tivar and just bought one of my Sensation Trail models.) Liz isn't one to fixate on changing saddles, bits, etc. if the horse appears comfortable and you couldn't argue with the relaxed appearance of the Icelandic representation, nor with their gaiting. Sue's horses were also in sidepulls, and all of the Icelandics were barefoot...and all were gaiting nicely. It was a pretty proud day for our breed, I think!
