He seems to use his neck quite a bit.  He carries it at different 
levels, depending on whether we are on the flat or climbing a hill; 
moseying along or walking at a good clip, etc.  Sometimes he is nose to 
the ground, sniffing things on the trail.

He doesn't move away if I touch him with my hands...it is something to 
do with brushing.  I have tried various brushes with various materials.
