I aint kiddin. You know, when I think about it, what these kids are doing is no different from what I did as a kid. My brothers and I used to ride in my dad's pickup standing up in the bed behind the cab to feel the wind in our faces. I used to lie in the rear window space in my grandparents' Datsun. We never wore helmets on our bikes or while horseback riding or skateboarding downhill on a cement road. Never wore seatbelts in the car. We used to go to the pool by ourselves. My dad still spear fishes by himself (he's 73, no tanks). He bought my brother's motorcycles when they were about 10. They didn't know how to ride them but figured it out after a couple of crashes. We used to run through the jungles (wasn't a rain forest then) of Panama in our barefeet and regularly come upon snakes, iguanas, sloths, spiders, etc. and get as close to them as we could, sometimes pick them up and take them home!
