Hi Janice,

Why don’t you try something as a balance rein as I suggested?  I would guess
that he shows some, even small tendency, to tighten up when you are in a
smaller group or even alone.  The balance rein will help to reduce the
tightness in the neck and back and give you much more influence on him.
Does he really drop his head when he bucks?

 

I don’t think that horses ‘plan’ to buck, rear or whatever, but it is their
response to particular situations and it is dangerous and scary, especially
if it becomes a default..  Did you get the pdf I sent about the balance
rein?  I think Yahoo has been having problems over the past few days or at
least we have been having problems with it.
