We have learned to fill water containers when we hear bad weather is on the way - remember when there is no water there are no flushing toilets either. One farm I know puts barrels at the corners of their buildings and collects water off the roofs as it melts. If you get a generator be sure to get one big enough to run your well if that's the biggest concern. Our neighbors got one - didn't test it and when they needed it it wouldn't run the pump. I think power outages are just a fact of life in the country in the Southeast Laree
