>>>> i swear, i am subject to more nosy questions than anyone else on this
list appears to be. wtf does this have to do with icelandics?

Because if you don't understand what it's like to be a poor farmer, maybe
you don't have a clue what it MIGHT have been like to have been breeding -
or using - horses in another grimmer, poorer time - whatever the country.
Maybe if you had thought out that angle, you could better sort out the myths
and hype associated with "horse tradin'" of any breed, especially this one.
You've had this horse of yours for three months or whatever and you're
certainly not a breeder. You are new to owning horses. Yet you defend
practices that you don't understand, and that you haven't thought through
fully or questioned. THAT part has a lot to do with this list...that you
make arguments all the time without asking us how we arrived at some of our
conclusions or positions. And it troubles me that you accept some premises
that simply don't ring true to those of us a little closer to poor farm
life.

You have volunteered all sorts of obscure facts about your life that aren't
so relevant to the list, and I asked one question that is. If you're going
to participate in these discussions, particularly questions about breeding,
it's only fair to know where you're coming from and what your experience is
and what shaped your perspective.

I changed the subject back to the original one, because it's not about you,
Vicka. It's not about nosy questions about your life. It's not about how
smart you are, or aren't. It's about the horses. That's what this list is
about.

"The greatest enemy of the truth very often is not the lie- deliberate,
contrived and dishonest -- but the myth -- persistent, persuasive and
unrealistic."

"All truth passes through three stages.
First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed.
Third, it is accepted as being self-evident." ~ Arthur Schopenhauer
